How to Properly Pack a box to Ship

Other than to make sure that your item(s) make it to there destination, a properly packed box is important in case there is a claim for damages.  All carriers, FedEx, DHL/Airborne, and USPS, offer insurance for any packages that you ship through them, but not all customers will receive a full or partial refund if it is determined that the box was not packaged properly.
Follow the instructions below to properly pack your box or bring your item(s) to Mail N More and our ourteous staff will package them for you.

 Certified Box

A certified box is designed to withstand up to 200lbs of pressure, thus the box will hold up to the riggers of air and ground travel. Make sure that the box you use does not show any signs of damage, stress to the cardboard, or folds, these things will make the box lose its form and collapse under the weight of other packages stacked on top. The more times you reuse a box for shipping, the weaker the box will become.

Under NO circumstances is this a properly packed box. This box may not survive to its final destination.

Packing your Box

Use packing tape to seal the bottom of the box. Do not use “Duck Tape” or electrical tape. These tapes will come off the boxes and will cause damage to the processing machinery or your package as it travels through the machinery.
Wrap the item(s) in bubble wrap. If you are shipping electronics, wrap the item in a plastic bag and seal the end. This will help prevent moisture from entering the electronics if the box becomes wet. Now wrap the item(s) in bubble wrap.
Now place 2 inches of Styrofoam peanuts on the bottom of the box (if you have a fragile item, use 4 inches).
Place the item(s) in the center of the box and continue to fill the box with peanuts. Gently push in the peanuts, filling in any gaps around the item(s).
If you do not have Styrofoam peanuts, you can use newspaper and clothing to help cushion the item(s) in the box. These items are heavier then the peanuts, so it will add weight to your package.
At Mail N More, we use Non-Static peanuts, which helps cut down on damage to electronics (plus the peanuts will not stick to you). Bubble Wrap, Peanuts, and cardboard boxes are available for purchase at Mail N More so you can pack your package yourself, or you can bring in your item(s) for our staff to pack for you.
